I live in close proximity to this restaurant and eat there once or twice a month. I usually come alone for a hibachi dinner and the staff is always more than accommodating. (I believe) The owner or general manager of the restaurant is seemingly always here and very welcoming to all guests. With a great atmosphere, great service, and take out AND delivery options, this is your best bet for hibachi in Rochester.

Food was fantastic and the noodles were a nice new addition to the typical rice. Onion soup wasn't my favorite but everything else was really good. Prices were cheaper than most other places like that and you got more food. Service was great as well.

I can say I used to go here religiously until I moved and it was for good reason. Not only are their lunch deals almost unbeatable but the food is always just so good. I like it more than other hibachi places as the food has more flavor than just lots of butter which is my experience at other places. Never leave here without being full and happy.

Visited the place for a team get together! Would definitely recommend for a team outing! Nice experience having food cooked in front of you! Loved the tricks and not the least food and the sauces!

I bought a Groupon for this Shogun to use while on vacation in Michigan. I had read a lot of reviews online. Most find the food to be good but sometimes the service lacking. I wasn’t sure what to expect. The hibachi chef we had was wonderful. He put on a small show for us while cooking and was smiling and talking. The 2 waitresses and hostess we had were all prompt and friendly. There was another group of people at a different hibachi grill. I was glad we didn’t sit there. The young chef was not talkative nor did he interact with his guest. I don’t think I heard him say anything the entire time he was cooking. Nor did he ever smile. So we had a great time, the portions were large and tasted great. But the other table probably didn’t feel the same. Bottom line, foods great and service is great if you get the right hibachi chef.

I have been to the hibachi grill twice, each time I had a different chef. Both times every part of my meal was cooked perfectly. My whole family loves this place. If I could give it more than five stars I would. Excellent food.

This is our favorite hibachi/teppanyaki place. The food is pricey but worth it! It’s also not usually super busy so we never have to worry about it being crowded. We enjoy the hibachi portion and have never tried their take out, but we like their potstickers, spring rolls, fried rice, noodles, chicken and steak the most.

I love this place! So yummy and always has a table open at all times. Very friendly staff and delicious food! You will never have a problem waiting an hour for a table like other hibachi places! I love the teriyaki chicken and ginger salad! They also deliver, so it’s a win-win.

Welcome to Shogun Rochester, the quintessential destination for hibachi lovers in the heart of Rochester, Michigan. With a phone line open for inquiries at +1 248-453-5386, Shogun invites everyone—locals and visitors alike—to experience a slice of Japanese culinary tradition.

Shogun Rochester stands out not just for the delicious food, but also for its attentive service and warm atmosphere. As customer john barrett attests, the welcoming spirit is palpable, especially with the owner often present to ensure guests feel right at home. Whether you're dining alone for a quick hibachi dinner or celebrating with friends, the accommodating staff makes every visit special.

A notable highlight is the hibachi cooking experience, where chefs craft not only meals but also delightful performances that keep diners engaged. For instance, Gnana Sudheer Reddy raved about their team outing, praising the skilled chefs who brought the meal to life with impressive tricks and delectable sauces, which add a unique touch to every dish.

Quality meets affordability at Shogun. As Melisa Sheeler observed, the fantastic flavor profile of their dishes—particularly the noodles, a delightful twist on the traditional rice—coupled with competitive pricing, makes it a favorite for many. Meanwhile, Tony Crimando remarked on the unmatched lunch deals that ensure you leave feeling satisfied and happy, a sentiment that rings true for both casual diners and regulars.

However, it's worth noting that the dining experience can vary. Some guests have reported inconsistencies in service, as illustrated by Shannon B. While the food was wonderful, the interaction level of the hibachi chef can make a significant difference. This variability adds an element of unpredictability that keeps dining at Shogun exciting.

In conclusion, Shogun Rochester is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience that melds flavor, entertainment, and cultural flair. With its inviting environment and skilled chefs, it has become a beloved spot for hibachi enthusiasts in the area. Whether you are a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for a seat at the grill—you won't be disappointed!
